Decreased L -ascorbate content mediating bolting is mainly regulated by the galacturonate pathway in Oncidium
Kai-Wun Yeh
We investigated the alteration in L -ascorbate (AsA, reduced form) content and the expression pattern of its related genes during the phase transition in Oncidium orchid. During the vegetative growth, a high H2O2 level was associated with a high content of the reduced form of AsA. During the bolting period, the AsA content and H2O2 level were greatly reduced in parallel with increased expression of OgLEAFY , the gene encoding a key transcription factor integrating different flowering-inducing pathways. more....

Phylogenetic analysis, subcellular localization, and expression patterns of RPD3/HDA1 family histone deacetylases in plants

Keqiang Wu
Although histone deacetylases from model organisms have been previously identified, there is no clear basis for the classification of histone deacetylases under the RPD3/HDA1 superfamily, particularly on plants. Thus, this study aims to reconstruct a phylogenetic tree to determine evolutionary relationships between RPD3/HDA1 histone deacetylases from six different plants representing dicots with Arabidopsis thaliana, Populus trichocarpa, and Pinus taeda, monocots with Oryza sativa and Zea mays, and the lower plants with Physcomitrella patens. more....

Proteomic profiling of tandem affinity purified 14-3-3 protein complexes in Arabidopsis thaliana

Ing-Feng Chang
In eukaryotes, 14-3-3 dimers regulate hundreds of functionally diverse proteins (clients), typically in phosphorylation-dependent interactions. To uncover new clients, a 14-3-3 omega (At1g78300) from Arabidopsis was engineered with a “tandem affinity purification” (TAP) tag and expressed in transgenic plants. more....

Virus-induced gene silencing reveals veals the involvement of ethylene, salicylic acid and mitogen-activated protein kinase related defense pathways in tomato resistance to bacterial wilt

Chiu-Ping Cheng
Bacterial wilt (BW), caused by Ralstonia solanacearum, is a devastating vascular disease of tomato worldwide. However, information on tomato’s defense mechanism against infection by this soil-borne bacterium is limited. more....

A tobacco rattle virus- induced gene silencing system for a soil-borne vascular pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum
